Below you’ll find answers to the questions we hear most often about bookkeeping, BAS, payroll and working with us.

Do I still need a bookkeeper if I use Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks?

Yes. Accounting software makes bookkeeping easier, but it doesn’t replace the expertise and vigilance of a bookkeeper. We make sure your transactions are coded correctly, accounts are reconciled and your BAS/IAS is prepared properly.

Can you help if my books are behind?

Absolutely. Catch‑up bookkeeping is part of our core service offering. We will go through your historical transactions, reconcile accounts, tidy up records and bring everything up to date so you can move forward confidently.

Do you work with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks?

Yes. We are experienced across all three major accounting platforms. We can help with setup, training and migration, as well as ongoing bookkeeping, BAS and payroll support within your chosen software.

Can you assist with payroll and Single Touch Payroll (STP)?

Yes. We process payroll runs, manage superannuation and ensure STP reporting is lodged correctly and on time. We also help set up payroll systems if you’re just getting started.

How does onboarding work?

After an initial consultation, we review your current books and systems. We then prepare a tailored engagement proposal. Once approved, we set up access, establish processes and begin our regular work. It’s seamless and designed to minimise disruption.

What do you need from me to get started?

We’ll ask for access to your accounting software, bank statements and any outstanding paperwork. If you don’t have software yet, we’ll help you choose the right platform and set it up.

How often will I hear from you?

We tailor our communication to your needs. At a minimum, you’ll receive monthly updates on your books and BAS schedule. We’re also available for ad‑hoc questions as they arise.

Do you work with Melbourne businesses only?

While most of our clients are based in Melbourne and regional Victoria, we’re able to support businesses across Australia using cloud accounting software and remote communication.

How do your fees work?

Every business is different, so we tailor our fees based on factors like transaction volume, payroll complexity, software requirements and reporting needs. We’ll provide a clear quote after understanding your situation. Check out our pricing page for more details.
